Your team and your responsibilities

 

Team description

 

Production Engineering Division in Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for the introduction of new vehicles into the Toyota manufacturing plants within Europe. Within the Plastics department we support the newly designed plastic parts introduction into mass production. We develop the associated tooling and equipment for mainly large size plastic parts to our in-house facilities.

 

Your responsibilities

 

You lead the project from design stage all the way through into mass production with some key responsibilities as follows:

  • You make the plastic injection mould design using CATIA and make the tooling studies to determine if the new part shape is feasible.
  • communicate any required changes to the responsible part designer.
  • determine injection molding filling concept using CAE tools like Moldflow.
  • make mould specification and support toolmaker selection.
  • lead the mould design approval and instruct the toolmaker any changes required.
  • manage the part quality improvment trials before mass production.
  • make the mould set up in the mass production machine and make the necessary parameter adjustments on the injection machine.
  • troubleshoot injection moulding problems, propose and implement appropriate countermeasures.
  • make the specification for new checking fixtures, part transfer equipment, robot attachments etc. and support their implementation into mass production.
  • Benchmark new technologies and materials for injection molding, assess their benefit and implement appropriate ones into mass production.
  • Based at our branch office in Valenciennes You will support new project introduction to TMMF and ocassionally to our other European Manufacturing facilities.

Your Profile

 

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • Minimum 2 years University or Engineering school in Materials Science, Mechanical design, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Injection molding process and equipment operation knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Injection mould design skills are highly desirable.
  • Some know-how of CATIA and Moldflow/Moldex or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Self starter capable to work under minimum instruction/supervision.
  • Owner of driving license.
  • Flexible and willing to travel up to 10% internationally.
  • Open to an international assignment (Japan, North America or within Europe).
  • You are fluent in English (TME business language) and ideally French
