Within VPE, the Body Assembly Department leads development activities such as:

  • New vehicle planning
  • Design for manufacture
  • Production line set-up

This role is based at Toyota Motor Europe - France Branch in Valenciennes.

Your responsibilities

As an Engineer in Body Assembly, you will help shape the future of mobility by preparing new vehicle and production concepts for mass production. In this role, you will:

  • Translate vehicle style and design expectations into practical, high-quality, and scalable manufacturing concepts.
  • Assess design data against Toyota’s manufacturing standards, identifying impacts on production processes.
  • Collaborate with Production and Equipment teams to evaluate process feasibility and propose improvements that balance Safety, Quality, Cost, Investment, and Productivity.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization through benchmarking and analysis of best practices.
  • Lead process improvements and equipment design using 3D models, simulation tools, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
  • Procure and deploy manufacturing processes in the European plants.

Your Profile

  • You have obtained a Master’s Degree in Engineering and you bring experience from a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • You have experience with robot simulation, ideally using Siemens Process Simulate (PSR), and you work confidently with CATIA V5.
  • You manage engineering data effectively, including 3D models, drawings, and simulation files.
  • You are comfortable working across the full engineering cycle — from process and part design to equipment design, manufacturing follow‑up, and shopfloor installation activities.
  • You bring strong digital skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and you may have exposure to Power Automate or Power BI for automation or data analysis.
  • You communicate clearly, work effectively with diverse stakeholders and you thrive in a multicultural and hands‑on environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • You are fluent in English, and you ideally speak some French, especially useful for shopfloor and contractor coordination.
  • You are open to weekend work during key project milestones and you are willing to travel to other European plants, and occasional trips to Japan.
