Your team and your responsibilities

You will contribute to Toyota Motor Europe Circular Economy BEV, PHEV, HEV, FCEV battery 3R strategy making; Remanufacture, Repurpose and Recycle. In Circular Economy Business Unit, your main responsibility will be:

 

Battery Recycling:

  • Benchmark battery recycling players for different battery chemistries (NMC, LFP, NiMh, etc.) and companies across Europe including UK & Turkey and, assess their capabilities and performance in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and map out key stakeholders in the battery-to-battery closed-loop value chain and analyse the value chain capabilities focusing on critical process steps; safe handling, transportation, diagnosis, treatment, and recycling batteries to recover valuable materials, reduce environmental impact, and support circular economy initiatives.
  • Research current trends in battery recycling technologies for different battery chemistries (NMC, LFP, NiMh, etc.), including advancements and emerging practices.
  • Perform forecasting for black mass supply and demand, considering market trends and future projections

Your Profile

 

  • Fluent in English (TME’s business language) 
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in high voltage batteries and 3R circular value chain; remanufacture, repurpose and recycle.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle battery chemistry and electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate company capabilities and market trends.
  • Ability to plan and execute complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong interest in the circular economy, sustainable practices and 3R approach
