From the beginning of a car’s lifecycle to its disposal, Toyota’s sophisticated supply chain network focuses on reducing the environmental impact of our products and activities. For our production parts, multiple cross-docks and consolidation points across the region support the supply of components to our manufacturing plants. Vehicle Logistics Groups in our European hubs, cross-docks and port operations ensure our customers get their vehicles on-time, in-time, every time. For after-sales activities, we have an extensive supply chain to organise and support service parts and components.

 

The Service Parts Supply Chain Group operates 18 central distribution warehouses throughout Europe. Using a hub & spoke distribution method, they ship thousands of components and accessories every day to over 3300 retailers throughout Europe and affiliates across the globe.

Your team and your responsibilities

The Specialist HR is the operational HR Leader and the Employee Champion in the local depot. You’ll play an important role in the further growth of our local depot and in unleashing people’s and the organizational potential.

As a respected person, they are a discrete and trustworthy social partner for all employees and the local Unions onsite. The HR Specialist is responsible for the implementation and timely completion of all the HR processes within the depot. In addition, they coach line management in realizing their people strategy by translating it into organizational initiatives and HR projects that add value to the performance of their teams.

  • Manpower: 60 warehouse employees including Supervision and 5 office staff
  • Working location: Our depot in Illescas, Toledo, Spain

 

The scope of activities includes

  • Acts as the trusted single point of contact for employees and management.
  • Establishes and maintains constructive relations with line management, employees and Unions in order to optimize information exchange.
  • Masters and stays aware of the country and regional (new) legislations on all HR practices.
  • Leads local Union meetings and the yearly base salary process through building of mutual trust and respect with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaises with the central HR team in the European Headquarters (Belgium) and with HR Specialists in other depots across Europe.
  • Responds, manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and advises on how to handle.
  • Is a HR ambassador and a proactive champion in excellent execution of HR processes (hiring requests, headcount tracking, appraisals, moderation, development committee, etc.).
  • Plays a key role in increasing member engagement in the depot together with line management.
  • Monitors the career progression assignments and individual development plans (member development program) through unleashing people’s potential.
  • Actively supports the depot’s manpower availability improvement activities.
  • Active support in “Span of Control” project.
  • Supports line management in managing their resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g. coaching, career development, etc.).
  • Drives, develops and executes HR communication in our Regional Depot Operations.
  • Diagnoses the effectiveness and efficiency of the existing local HR processes, policies and systems and communicates improvement actions to the respective expert teams of corporate HR.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Administration or HR Management
  • Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in a unionized blue collar environment
  • Strong knowledge of and compliance with local employment legislation and HR practices is required
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work with unions and other levels in the organisation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to analyse and interpret HR data and to make recommendations based on it
  • Passionate about people
  • Creative thinker and eager to find solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Efficient, objective driven
  • Fluent in Spanish (native or C2) and English (at least C1)
