Team description

 

Located just outside Brussels is our European Distribution Centre in Diest called Toyota Parts Centre Europe (TPCE) employing 930 people. It is responsible for the procurement, storage and logistics supply of a dedicated range of Toyota/Lexus spare parts, accessories and technical campaign parts supporting the both the new car sales and existing customer vehicles service and warranty needs. The Diest facility receives parts from over 700 suppliers, ranging from Japan to local sources, and manages over 250,000 part numbers. The facility, which spans 100,000 square meters, handles more than 150 trucks daily. Its two outbound logistics roles include providing direct overnight supply to over 600 Toyota dealers in the local region and supporting the 13 European Regional Distribution Centres. This ensures a consistent high level of Just In Time service to all National Marketing and Sales Companies (NMSCs), Toyota dealers within Europe, and our final customers beyond.

 

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for the procurement and inventory control of parts and accessories sourced from local suppliers, who also provide production parts to our European plants. You will analyze stock and service levels, and initiate necessary improvement actions to meet our customers’ service expectations, in line with targets for main KPI’s : - follow up allocation Service Rate to Toyota customers - avoid backorders to Toyota customers You will respond to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional way You will manage supplier performance improvement activities. Create & follow up action plans with supplier to cover any gap to target, using the TPS (Toyota Production System) philosophy and Toyota problem solving approach, this includes : - Create/map/review & improve processes - Understand abnormalities in our warehouse caused by supplier - Visit supplier to understand root cause, to find countermeasures, to improve processes to avoid recurrence, to support in creation of standards. - You will ensure availability of parts to European Markets through regional locations and beyond to the end customer, for both current and future models of Toyota and Lexus vehicle

Your Profile

Your profile

 

You have a Bachelor or Master in logistics, procurement or related disciplines, such as economics / engineering, with some experience in a similar job in the automotive or other industry. You are/have :

  • Genuinely interested in the automotive industry & supply chain management
  • Attention to detail and enjoy working in an active supply environment, under time pressure
  • Outgoing proactive personality with excellent teamwork skills and a customer mind-set
  • Very good numeric and MS office skills, including Power BI (and Access)
  • A driving licence as some business travel to both European suppliers and Head Office is required
  • Fluency in English as a business language. Knowledge of other languages is an additional asset
