Team description

Reporting to the Head of CSRD, you will lead the newly formed CSRD Reporting team with responsibility for 3 direct reports. You will focus on key legislative reporting requirements and cross-company coordination to achieve timely and accurate reporting, and third-party assurance of all required data.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this role. You will work closely and collaboratively across various functions in TME, as well as National Marketing & Sales Companies (NMSCs) and European Manufacturing Companies (EMCs). A significant part of this role is effective collaboration and coordination between Toyota Motor Corporation’s (TMC) Sustainability Management Department (SMD) for all elements of the reporting function.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the TME alignment and communication with TMC regarding CSRD reporting legislation.

  • Develop and implement the TMC governance framework and working model for first reporting across Europe to support decision making.

  • Prepare TME’s legal compliance for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This includes understanding the scope of the legislation, the requirements for TME and its affiliates in each country, the role of TMC (and other regions as applicable), and effectively communicate and prepare for compliance.

  • Ensure alignment with and manage expectations of TMC SMD and any associated TMC teams through regular meetings with clear agendas, discussion, and decision points, as well as supporting additional stakeholders including across TME, NMSC’s and EMC’s.

  • Manage all relevant data, KPI’s, processes and narratives required for effective and accurate reporting, including developing IT & Development reporting tools to gain insights, and support the TME Accounting and Finance team for EU Taxonomy.

  • Manage the development and ongoing maintenance of TME’s Double Materiality (Impact and Financial Materiality) for TME to comply with CSRD.

  • Identify and manage external advisory requirements to support effective CSRD reporting implementation, and coordinate reporting initiatives in line with One Toyota principles.

  • Full budget responsibility and people responsibility - to manage a team of 3 direct reports - are also a key feature of this role in order to deliver a highly engaged, expert team.

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language).
  • Prior work experience directly within Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSR).
  • Previous experience of both budget management and CSR team management responsibility (to lead a team of 3 staff).
  • You like to work in an organized and structured way, with an affinity for numbers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel, Power BI is an asset.
