Do you want to take part in the development of the car of tomorrow? The Purchasing team at Toyota Motor Europe can offer you this challenge. Located in the heart of Europe, Purchasing plays a key strategic role in the development of our future products.  As a buyer you will develop and manage all aspects of the commercial relationship between Toyota and its suppliers, located all over Europe.  This position will allow you to have an insight into the most recent technical innovations and will enable you to get a deep understanding of how a leading multinational operates and interacts with numerous internal and external parties.

 

Your responsibilities

  • You purchase vehicle or parts logistics for current and future models/vehicles
  • You negotiate with our suppliers (logistics partners) to achieve the best price in the market
  • You manage all commercial issues related to your portfolio of responsibility
  • You are responsible to make appropriate supplier (logistic partner) selection recommendations to senior management.
  • You develop comprehensive understanding of technological and market trends within the automotive industry.
  • You will develop commodity strategies at regional level and have an input towards global strategies.

Your Profile

To be successful in this position, you:

    • have a university degree or higher education in business, purchasing or engineering
    • have some business understanding and affinity with logistics
    • are results driven and able to break down complex issues into manageable portions
    • have good communication, negotiation and presentation skills
    • have highly developed analytical skills, accuracy and reliability
    • can work independently in multi-disciplinary teams
    • are computer literate (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
    • are willing to travel up to 20%
    • are fluent in English, another European language is an asset

  • An 18-months training program (on top of the daily job)
    • On the job training
    • Classroom training (Toyota Way, Toyota Production System…)
    • Experiential training (5-6 weeks Line training at an European Manufacturing Company…)
  • Evolution towards the “Specialist” grade after graduation
