Your team and your responsibilities

Team description


Energy Business division is responsible to define, lead the development and lead the deployment into the TME markets, of new energy product and services related to the ownership and use of BEV and PHEV. 

These include for example “Vehicle to Grid” services that will allow the Toyota and Lexus customers in the future to use and monetise own BEV (or PHEV) as energy storage device: in simple terms, the customer will buy and store electricity in BEV (or PHEV) during the hours when the energy price is low and will resell electricity to the grid (or will use electricity in own household) during the hours when electricity value / price is high. The team shall in particular:

  • Define a compelling value proposition and customer journey , in alignment with Product Strategy and Marketing function. For this purpose, it will be key to have a broad and continuous benchmark of the competition including energy companies and SW companies active in this space.
  • Secure the technical development of energy product and service. This includes the lead of engineering W/G with TME R&D, VC, ITD, CT, and external stakeholders to define and follow up the implementation of the necessary technical features in the Toyota BEV P/F, the Toyota EV charging Solution (including HW and SW elements), the Toyota customer Apps
  • Secure the deployment in the TME markets of energy products and services, in alignment with Sales functions and NMSCs. This includes the preparation of Toyota retail channels as well as the set up and operation of the necessary P/F to deliver direct support to end customers

Your responsibilities

  • To define, starting from agreed customer value proposition and customer journey, the technical requirements for the system(s) supporting the target energy product and services
  • To align with involved technical functions on the high-level architecture of the mentioned system(s)
  • To align with involved technical functions on the respective development scope, budget, and timelines
  • To follow up execution to secure delivery of the target technical solution in quality, time and budget

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • You have significant experience in system engineering of complex product and services based on distributed SW components and using multiple digital customer interfaces
  • You have significant experience in coordinating the delivery of technical artifacts, from cross functional and multi-cultural teams
  • You have significant experience in discussing and negotiating technical solutions with external stakeholders
  • You have a talent to visualise and communicate complex technical matters in simple manner for reporting stati, issues and risks to management
